In Uzbekistan, the fees for processing primary identity documents, namely ID cards and biometric passports for traveling abroad, as well as the fines related to them, have been updated.
Now, the fee for obtaining an ID card in Uzbekistan is 391,600 soums, while the fee for processing a biometric passport for traveling abroad is 352,000 soums for persons under 16 and 440,000 soums for persons over 16.
There are also changes in the system of fines established for documents; if you do not replace your biometric passport for traveling abroad with a new one within one month after its expiration date, you will be fined in the amount of half of the base calculation amount, i.e., 220,000 soums. Likewise, if you lose your ID card or foreign travel passport, or render them unusable, you will have to pay a fine in the amount of one base calculation amount, i.e., 440,000 soums.
Therefore, all citizens are requested to constantly monitor the expiration date and integrity of their documents in order to avoid unnecessary trouble and expenses.
