An important warning has been issued for foreign citizens wishing to obtain a patent for employment in Moscow and the Moscow region. According to official information, it is impossible to process a patent through intermediaries, and individuals offering such services are fraudsters. The only legal way to obtain the document is to visit the Sakharovo Multidisciplinary Migration Center in person.
Turning to intermediaries poses serious legal and financial risks for migrants. Specifically, missing the deadline for patent processing (30 calendar days after entering Russia) results in a fine ranging from 10,000 to 15,000 rubles. Fraudsters often provide stickers with fake barcodes, but it is impossible to obtain a valid patent with them.
There are also cases where intermediaries misappropriate large sums of money by promising help with submitting employment notifications. In such cases, the migrant's patent is subsequently cancelled due to the lack of relevant data in the Russian Interior Ministry's database.
Migration center staff strongly advise against transferring money to individuals offering services via private messages or comments on social networks. In any suspicious situations involving people claiming to be center employees, it is necessary to refrain from transferring funds and to obtain information only through official channels.
