Migrants with illegal documents under investigation: criminal group exposed in Moscow

An illegal migration channel has been uncovered in Moscow. According to the Russian Investigative Committee, the 7-member criminal group includes three former interior ministry employees. The group members are accused of organizing illegal migration, falsifying the registration of foreign citizens, and abuse of office.

As reported by the official representative of the Russian Interior Ministry, Irina Volk, these individuals helped migrants obtain Russian citizenship, residence permits (VNJ), and other migration statuses in exchange for money. During the investigation, 20 cases of fake migration registration were identified. During the searches, forged documents, stamps, and other pieces of evidence were confiscated.

As part of the criminal case, active members of the group, owners of fake addresses, and intermediaries were arrested in Moscow and the Moscow region. It was revealed that among the suspects are two current employees of district migration units. Currently, investigative actions are ongoing, and the actions of all individuals who obtained documents through this scheme are being checked.

It should be reminded that violating migration legislation in Russia, including the use of forged documents, leads to serious legal consequences. Previously, according to a law signed by the President of Russia, the grounds for the expulsion (deportation) of foreign citizens from the country were expanded.
