Nine people jailed for document forgery

According to the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Oryol region, nine foreign nationals have been found guilty of manufacturing and using forged documents. During the trial, their criminal activities were fully proven.

It was determined that members of the criminal group produced over 200 counterfeit passports and other official documents from one of the Central Asian republics between October 1, 2024, and January 16, 2025. They utilized fake seals, stamps, and letterheads in the process.

These documents were not only sold but also used by the defendants to open bank accounts at financial institutions in the city of Oryol. The criminal case was initiated based on intelligence gathered by the regional departments of the Russian Interior Ministry and the FSB.

Under the court's verdict, the defendants were sentenced to prison terms ranging from 3 to 4 years. They will serve their sentences in general-regime penal colonies.
