Responsibility for organizing illegal migration highlighted in Kalmykia

The Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Republic of Kalmykia has provided information regarding the rules for foreign citizens staying in the country and the established liability for organizing illegal migration. According to the official statement, administrative and criminal penalties are in place for violations in the migration sector.

Under the law, the fictitious registration of foreign citizens is prohibited. This refers to registering a person at a place of residence without the intention of them actually living there or based on forged documents, as well as registering them at the address of an organization where the individual does not perform any work activities.

Article 322.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation establishes penalties for organizing the illegal entry, stay, or transit of foreign citizens. Furthermore, Articles 322.2 and 322.3 provide for criminal liability in cases of fictitious registration. These offenses may result in fines, compulsory labor, or imprisonment.

Reports regarding migration violations can be submitted via the Kalmykia Investigative Department's page on the VKontakte social network (vk.com/suskrk), the online reception office (https://kalmykia.sledcom.ru/folder/873299/), or by calling 8 (84722) 3-60-17.
