New rules for migrants working in Russia: 30-day deadline and fines

A special training session dedicated to changes in migration legislation was held for foreign workers in the Agapovsky District of the Chelyabinsk Region. Migrants were provided with detailed information on the procedures for legal work and residence in Russia, as well as the new rules that have recently come into effect.

Experts emphasized the importance of making patent payments on time. According to the regulations, even a one-day delay in payment renders the patent invalid. It was also noted that receiving two administrative fines within a year leads to a five-year ban on entry into Russia, while working without a patent results in deportation from the country.

Starting from September, the medical examination procedure has become stricter. Now, all foreigners arriving in Russia for more than 90 days are required to undergo a medical examination within 30 days of entering the country (previously, this period was 90 days).

Furthermore, in accordance with Order No. 290 of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, employers must submit a notification regarding the conclusion or termination of an employment contract within three working days. Although re-notification is not required when an foreign employee's personal data changes, it has become mandatory to attach the employee's consent to the processing of personal data to the documents.
