5 reasons for refusal to issue a work patent in Russia

The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs has defined a number of circumstances that serve as grounds for refusing to issue a work patent to foreign citizens. Accordingly, if the validity period of the submitted documents has expired or they are forged, the application will not be satisfied. Providing false information during the application process also prevents obtaining a patent.

The history of migrant offenses is also of great importance. If a foreign citizen has been held administratively liable more than once within one year for violating the rules of stay in Russia, they will not be issued a patent. Furthermore, individuals who have been expelled (deported) from Russia within 5 years prior to submitting an application are also deprived of the right to obtain a patent.

If the issuance of a patent is refused, it is required to wait 1 year to re-apply. If a citizen does not agree with the decision, they can file a complaint via the "Gosuslugi" portal or personally contact the unit of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs where the documents were submitted.
