The Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Oryol Region has issued a warning regarding the necessity of complying with migration regulations. According to the statement, illegal stay, fictitious registration, and unauthorized employment are considered violations of the law.
In accordance with legislation, violations of migration rules carry both administrative (Articles 18.8–18.20 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation) and criminal (Articles 322.1–322.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) liability. These measures may include fines, deportation from the territory of Russia, or imprisonment.
Foreign citizens have the right to work only if they possess a patent or a work permit and are registered for migration purposes. Furthermore, fictitious registration or the provision of false information without the intention of actual residence leads to criminal liability.
Russian citizens who own property are required to notify the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the arrival of foreign nationals within 7 days. Failure to fulfill this obligation also results in legal liability.
Reports regarding violations of migration legislation or suspicious activities can be made 24/7 via the hotlines of the Investigative Department for the Oryol Region at 8 (4862) 73-29-75 or 8-920-815-65-55.
