For citizens of Uzbekistan working in Russia under a visa-free regime, obtaining a patent is a mandatory procedure. Documents must be submitted within 30 calendar days after entering Russia. This requires a passport, migration card, temporary registration, a medical examination certificate, a certificate of proficiency in the Russian language and legislation, and a medical insurance policy.
After obtaining the patent, the migrant must conclude an employment contract with an employer within two months and submit a copy to the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs. The validity of the patent is extended by making timely monthly tax payments (NDFL). If a payment is delayed, the patent is automatically cancelled.
The most important aspects of extending a patent are the validity of the registration and the presence of medical insurance. A patent is valid for a maximum of 12 months, after which the migrant must leave the country or re-apply for documents. It should also be remembered that the work permit is valid only within the region where it was issued.
Violation of the established rules, including late payments or engaging in illegal labor activities, leads to serious consequences. In such cases, a fine of 5,000 to 7,000 rubles may be imposed, along with the cancellation of documents and deportation from Russia with an entry ban ranging from 3 to 10 years.
