Fake registration in Russia: landlord fined, migrants to be deregistered

A resident of Krasnoyarsk, born in 1988, has been convicted for the fake registration of 24 foreign nationals at his apartment. According to investigators, between October and December 2025, the man registered foreign citizens at his home in the Kirovsky district without providing them with actual accommodation.

It was established that the landlord charged 500 rubles for each person registered. During an inspection conducted by law enforcement agencies, it was revealed that only the owner lived in the apartment, and the foreign nationals had never been there. As a result, the individual was found guilty under Article 322.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation and fined 20,000 rubles.

This situation carries serious consequences for the migrants: once cases of fake registration are identified, the foreign citizens' migration registration at the place of residence is cancelled. This can cause significant issues regarding the legality of the foreigners' stay in Russia and negatively impact their legal status.
