«Gosuslugi RuID» application for foreign citizens entering Russia

The «Gosuslugi RuID» (ruID) mobile application has been developed for foreign citizens planning to enter Russia or currently residing within the country. This application allows foreigners to access a range of government services remotely.

Using the application, users can submit an application for entry into Russia. The application includes information regarding the purpose of the trip, dates, route, and accompanying children. The document must be submitted at least 72 hours before crossing the border. In emergency cases (death or serious illness of a close relative), the application can be submitted 4 hours in advance, though supporting documents will be required.

Furthermore, the application allows users to submit biometric data (facial image and voice recording), check for entry bans, and create a digital profile. The profile aggregates personal data, visas, employment history, and other documents. After crossing the border and verifying the account, the user is provided with a QR code. This code can be presented to Ministry of Internal Affairs officers along with an identity document.

The application also facilitates access to services such as obtaining medical insurance within Russia, scheduling appointments with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and purchasing SIM cards from local mobile operators. The program can be downloaded from App Store, Google Play, RuStore, and AppGallery platforms. Please note that for foreign citizens who have entered under a visa-free regime in Moscow and the Moscow Region, there is also a mandatory requirement to register for migration purposes via the «Amina» application.
