Procedure for submitting biometric data upon entry to Russia extended until the end of 2027

The Russian government has decided to extend the trial period for collecting biometric data from foreign citizens. According to the decision, foreigners will now be required to undergo this procedure when crossing the Russian border until December 31, 2027.

Previously, the trial process was scheduled to continue until June 30, 2026. The new changes include the process of fingerprinting and photographing foreign nationals at border control points.

This procedure applies to all foreign citizens entering Russia, and providing such biometric data is mandatory when crossing the border. Migrants are advised to comply with these rules before traveling and to take into account that the process at control points may require additional time.
