A 50-year-old man has been arrested in the city of Sochi on suspicion of selling fake residence permits (temporary registration) to foreign citizens. According to the investigation, he illegally registered 28 foreigners in his home.
It is noted that the man charged 3,000 rubles for each person. In some cases, he accepted beer and fish products as payment instead of money. Currently, a criminal case has been initiated against the individual, and he could face up to 5 years in prison.
Fake registration for migrants poses serious legal risks. Specifically, cases of fake residence permits identified by the Russian Interior Ministry can lead to a ban on foreign citizens entering the Russian Federation or a refusal in the process of obtaining a work patent.
The Russian Interior Ministry plans to launch a special analytical center next year to combat illegal migration. This center will analyze data related to migration processes and serve to identify violations more effectively.
