In the Zavolzhsky district of Tver, law enforcement officers discovered that a foreign national had used forged documents during a routine check. The migrant, who arrived from a Central Asian country, applied to the migration department for a patent and submitted a certificate confirming his knowledge of the Russian language, Russian history, and the basics of legislation.
Police officers became suspicious of the document's authenticity. An examination conducted by the forensic center confirmed that the certificate did not comply with state standards. The foreign national's passport was also sent for verification.
In connection with this incident, a criminal case has been initiated under Part 3 of Article 327 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Forgery, manufacture or sale of forged documents, state awards, stamps, seals or forms"). According to the law, this charge carries a penalty of up to one year of imprisonment.
Furthermore, the foreign national was held administratively liable under Article 18.8 of the Code of Administrative Offenses for violating the rules of entry into the territory of the Russian Federation. Investigative actions are currently ongoing.
