Which documents must migrants update after receiving a new passport?

Citizens working in Russia who have changed their passports must update their current documentation. This process is essential to ensure consistency between the new passport details and the documents confirming the migrant's legal status.

First and foremost, individuals holding a valid work patent must contact the migration center to update their patent information. This requires the passport, the patent itself, payment receipts, and a notarized translation of the new passport. The documents will be reissued within 10 days.

It is also necessary to contact the Tax Service for the Taxpayer Identification Number (INN), and the Social Fund of Russia or the "My Documents" (MFC) centers for the insurance certificate (SNILS). These agencies will also update the information in the "Gosuslugi" system.

Furthermore, one should contact their health insurance company (DMS) to update the policy, and provide the new passport details to banks and mobile network operators. It is also mandatory to inform the employer, as relevant amendments to the employment contract will be required.
