Uzbekistan's authorities have put forward an initiative to establish a special comprehensive center within the republic for citizens intending to work in Russia. This center is expected to become an important tool for implementing a system of organized labor migration.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Uzbekistan Oleg Malginov (note: text mentions Aleksey Yerkhov, translated as per source) noted that the center is planned to facilitate necessary pre-departure procedures for migrants. Specifically, it is proposed to conduct testing on the Russian language, history, and legislation, medical examinations, as well as fingerprinting and the collection of biometric data directly in Uzbekistan.
According to the ambassador, significant work remains to be done by the relevant agencies of both countries to implement this initiative. Therefore, it was stated that the opening of the center is not an immediate prospect, and many technical and organizational issues are still awaiting resolution.
Previously, during a meeting between the Director of the External Labor Migration Agency of Uzbekistan, Mukhsinkhuja Abdurakhmonov, and the Russian Ambassador, issues regarding the improvement of mechanisms for the organized employment of citizens in Russia were discussed. The parties agreed to continue cooperation on document preparation and the simplification of migration processes.
