State Duma deputy Svetlana Bessarab announced that measures to combat illegal migration in the country are being strengthened. Authorities are implementing practices of deporting migrants and banning their re-entry if violations are detected. Furthermore, requirements for all foreigners to demonstrate knowledge of the Russian language and legislation are now mandatory.
The deputy emphasized that Russia is primarily interested in attracting highly qualified specialists. At the same time, requirements are becoming stricter for those who intend to relocate only with their families and have no desire to integrate into the local society. Currently, law enforcement agencies have intensified monitoring to identify illegal cases.
On the other hand, HR expert Garri Muradyan noted that the demand for labor in the Russian economy remains high. According to him, a labor shortage is being observed in the country due to the demographic situation. Migrants working on a legal basis are required to undergo medical examinations, fingerprinting, and register in locations that meet security standards.
It should be reminded that Russia is also discussing the possibility of a lifetime entry ban for migrants who have committed offenses and their family members. Migrants are required to conduct their activities strictly within the framework of the law and process all documents in a timely manner.
