As of October 1, the Yandex platform has begun withholding a 13 percent income tax from courier earnings. This procedure covers the couriers' base salary, various bonuses, and tips provided by customers.
Russian tax authorities began submitting data on the income of foreign workers to the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs starting October 1. This information will be sent regularly for 3, 6, and 12-month periods.
Furthermore, according to new legislation coming into effect on January 1, 2027, a labor migrant's official income must not be lower than the minimum consumer expenditure level. Foreign citizens who fail to meet the established income threshold will be required to leave Russia.
These changes signify the importance of formalizing income and fulfilling tax obligations for migrants working in Russia. Couriers are advised to monitor accurate information regarding their earnings and tax payments through their platform accounts.
