Migration policy in Russia: 32 laws adopted and new requirements are tightening

The "Ekaterina Forum" held in Russia addressed issues of migration policy and support for foreign citizens. More than 1,300 participants from 55 countries took part in the forum. In his address, Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasized that the country will continue to attract foreign specialists who respect traditional values and wish to link their future with Russia, as well as create conditions for their professional self-realization.

Deputy Chairman of the State Duma of Russia Vladimir Vasilyev stated that in recent years, the parliament has adopted 32 laws aimed at regulating migration policy. Official representatives reiterated that foreigners arriving in Russia must comply with laws, know the Russian language, and respect the country's culture and traditions.

Also, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry, as of October 4, 1,989 visas have been issued under a special decree for foreigners who do not support the policies of their own countries. A ceremony for presenting passports to new citizens was also held as part of the forum. Russian Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev noted the growing demand for the institution of repatriation (returning to the homeland).
