The number of foreign workers in the Samara region decreased by 35.2 percent

According to data provided by the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Migration Policy of the Samara region, as of August 1, 2026, the number of foreign citizens working in the region has decreased by 35.2 percent compared to the same period last year.

Experts note that this decline is linked to restrictions imposed on the number of foreign workers recruited within the region. Specifically, the number of foreign workers employed under patents has dropped by 31.9 percent.

The decrease in the workforce has affected all sectors. However, a significant decline in the share of foreign workers is observed in construction, trade, manufacturing, vehicle repair, the hospitality industry, and catering services.

According to official information, for the upcoming year 2027, the region plans to explore new directions for labor recruitment, specifically planning to work with citizens from India and Thailand.
