New training programs to be introduced for migrants heading abroad from 2027

Following negotiations between the leadership of the External Labour Migration Agency and representatives of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), new directions have been established to improve the preparation system for citizens wishing to work abroad. These changes are aimed at increasing the competitiveness of labor migrants abroad and protecting their rights.

Starting from 2027, in accordance with the requirements of foreign employers, the scope of language and vocational training for citizens will be expanded to a duration of 3 to 6 months. This process will serve to ensure that migrants are fully prepared to enter the foreign labor market.

A comprehensive approach to training programs is also being introduced. Now, in addition to language and professional skills, special training sessions for migrants regarding labor rights, financial literacy, working conditions, as well as protection against fraud and cyber threats will be strengthened.

Furthermore, it is planned to develop a new pilot mechanism to ensure labor mobility towards Sweden. Through these measures, it is intended that specialists heading abroad will be well-prepared personnel who are fully aware of their rights.
