The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs continues to implement comprehensive measures to control migration flows within the country and combat illegal migration. As part of the control measures, the activities of both foreign citizens and employers who illegally hire them are being inspected.
According to official data, 27.8 thousand cases of migration law violations were identified in the first half of 2026. During this period, 72.6 thousand foreigners were expelled and deported from Russian territory. In addition, decisions to ban entry into the country were made against 7.7 thousand people.
Control measures for employers have also been strengthened. In the first six months of the current year, 50 thousand administrative offenses committed by employers who attracted illegal foreign labor were identified. This is 22.1 percent more than in the same period last year. The effectiveness of inspections exceeded 90 percent, meaning that a violation was recorded in almost every inspection.
Furthermore, 23.8 thousand foreign citizens underwent mandatory dactyloscopic registration and photographing. Work is also underway to identify crimes in the field of migration: in particular, about 2.5 thousand signs of crimes related to the organization of illegal migration and document forgery have been identified.
