New conditions discussed for 16,000 Uzbek workers in the Leningrad region

On September 11, 2024, officials from the Uzbekistan Migration Agency's representative office in Russia and the Consulate General of our country in St. Petersburg held a meeting with the head of the Kingisepp district administration of the Leningrad region, Viktor Tolkachev, as well as representatives of regional internal affairs and emergency agencies.

During the meeting, it was noted that approximately 16,000 Uzbek labor migrants are currently working in the Leningrad region. The parties discussed in detail the issues of protecting the labor rights and legal interests of these citizens.

Also, within the framework of the negotiations, agreements were reached to further improve working conditions for our compatriots working in the region and to strengthen cooperation with local responsible organizations. These measures are aimed at ensuring the legal protection of migrants.
