Migrants who obtained fake residence permits for 200,000-350,000 rubles are under investigation in the Kaluga region

According to the Investigative Committee of the Kaluga region, a criminal group consisting of 13 individuals helped foreign citizens obtain residence permits (VNJ) in Russia. The group members charged between 200,000 and 350,000 rubles per person for their services. According to investigators, the criminal scheme operated between 2019 and 2024.

As part of the criminal case, it was established that the group members prepared fake registration documents for foreigners and fictitiously employed them at construction companies. This method allowed migrants to illegally exploit the simplified procedure for obtaining a residence permit. The group included two former law enforcement officers who used their connections to expedite the document review process.

As a result of investigations conducted by the Federal Security Service (FSB) and the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD) of Russia, a criminal case was initiated against 13 suspects for organizing illegal migration and establishing a criminal organization. Currently, the suspects' assets worth over 48 million rubles have been seized.

Investigative actions are ongoing. Law enforcement agencies are examining all circumstances of the crime and collecting evidence. This situation raises the possibility that documents obtained illegally will be revoked and the individuals who used them will be held accountable.
