Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia, noted the effectiveness of the "Amina" mobile application, introduced in the Moscow region to register foreign citizens. This digital system is designed to control the biometric data of migrants arriving under visa-free regimes and to track their movement across the territory.
According to official data, more than 3.3 million foreigners have used the application since it was launched on a trial basis in September last year. Currently, 1.1 million migrants from visa-free countries are registered in the system. Officials emphasize that this program not only simplifies the document processing procedure for foreigners but also serves to ensure compliance with Russian legislation.
The second phase of the "Amina" system is scheduled to launch in September. For migrants, this innovation means that the rules for staying in Russia and the procedures for biometric control will be further strengthened. Foreign citizens are required to monitor their migration status through this system and act in accordance with the rules.
