70 foreigners in Stavropol Krai received Russian citizenship through military service

According to the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Stavropol Krai, 70 foreign citizens have obtained citizenship of the Russian Federation since the beginning of 2026. These individuals are military personnel who participated in the special military operation, as well as their family members.

The process of obtaining citizenship is being carried out in a simplified manner in accordance with the Decree of the President of Russia No. 821, which entered into force on November 5, 2025. This procedure applies to foreigners and stateless persons who have signed a military service contract for a period of at least one year after February 24, 2022.

The advantages of the simplified procedure are that it does not require obtaining a temporary residence permit (RVP) or a residence permit (VNJ), meeting the requirement of five years of permanent residence in Russia, providing a certificate of no criminal record, or paying a state fee.

To apply for citizenship, it is required to submit an identity document (with a notarized translation) and a military service contract or an extract from the order of discharge from military service. Spouses, children, and parents of military personnel can also take advantage of this opportunity.
