Foreign citizens residing in Moscow and the Moscow region are complaining about widespread malfunctions in the "Amina" app that have been observed for the past 2-3 days. According to users, the app does not work at all via mobile internet, and in some cases, it is only accessible via Wi-Fi. The issues have been reported by subscribers of various mobile operators, such as T2, MTS, and Beeline.
The app's developers have not yet provided an official statement regarding the causes of the malfunctions or the timeline for their resolution. The 2.6.1 version, updated on September 1, also failed to fix the system errors. It is worth noting that as of September 1, 2026, the scope of individuals required to use the app was expanded.
This situation poses a serious risk to migrants, as foreigners are required to submit their location data to the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs specifically through this app. According to the rules, if the app fails to send geolocation data for more than 3 working days, the user may be automatically removed from migration registration.
Therefore, migrants are advised to carefully monitor whether their location data is being successfully sent from their profiles. Previously, similar malfunctions in the app's operation were observed in June and July 2026.
