Zamir Kabulov, the Russian presidential special envoy for Afghanistan, stated that no practical work is being carried out to recruit labor migrants from Afghanistan. According to him, there are no prospects for implementing this initiative in the near future.
In an interview with the Izvestia newspaper, Zamir Kabulov noted that consultations had taken place between the parties, but emphasized that it is a highly complex issue. He pointed out that this process does not fall under the primary jurisdiction of the Russian Foreign Ministry and is more of a matter for migration and law enforcement agencies.
Furthermore, when asked about the possibility of agreeing on cooperation terms in this area by the end of 2026, the special envoy stated that it is impossible to achieve such a result. Currently, there is no progress regarding the recruitment of labor from Afghanistan.
