LDPR proposed to limit the number of migrant children in kindergartens and schools

Representatives of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR) have submitted a proposal to the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Mishustin, regarding the limitation of the number of children of foreign citizens in schools, kindergartens, and secondary vocational educational institutions. According to Vladimir Sipyagin, the first deputy head of the faction, the share of foreign children in these educational institutions should not exceed 25 percent.

According to the proposed initiative, the implementation of this quota system is planned to begin in 2027. The document emphasizes that the state must primarily guarantee the right to education for children who are citizens of Russia. Party representatives noted that this restriction is proposed not to ban the education of foreign children, but to coordinate order within the education system.

In the deputy's opinion, a high share of foreign students in classes or groups creates additional burden on teachers and may complicate the learning process, especially if the children do not have a sufficient command of the Russian language. At the current stage, the proposal has been submitted to the government for consideration by the relevant federal executive authorities.
