Uzbekistan and Belarus agree to protect the rights of labor migrants

During the inter-parliamentary forum of Uzbekistan and Belarus held in the city of Khiva, special attention was paid to labor migration issues between the two countries. The parties exchanged views on ensuring the legal employment of citizens and protecting their labor and social rights.

At the meeting, issues of strengthening inter-parliamentary dialogue, developing trade and economic relations, and increasing the number of joint projects were reviewed. In particular, the goal is to increase the volume of mutual trade between the two states to 2 billion dollars, and in this regard, the need to support industrial cooperation and investment projects was noted.

At the "Made in Uzbekistan" and "Made in Belarus" exhibitions organized within the framework of the forum, more than 100 enterprises showcased their products and projects. Also, 15 bilateral agreements aimed at expanding interregional cooperation were signed, which is expected to serve the creation of new jobs and entrepreneurial opportunities in the future.

These agreements are assessed as a practical step aimed at ensuring legal and safe working conditions for migrants, as well as creating new jobs by strengthening economic ties between the two countries.
