An annual meeting dedicated to the migration policy issues of the Russian Federation took place in Moscow. The leadership of the Russian Interior Ministry and representatives of regional migration departments participated, discussing upcoming changes in the sector.
It was emphasized at the meeting that the Russian government plans to introduce an "organized recruitment" mechanism for attracting foreign workers. This system is aimed at ensuring that employers comply with legal requirements and protecting the rights of both migrants and the local population. The issue of reducing the number of family members of migrants who are not employed in the country was also placed on the agenda.
To strengthen control, a new analytical center based on artificial intelligence will be launched. It will consolidate data from various sources and help identify illegal legalization schemes, including violations committed via the internet and the public services portal.
Furthermore, migration control points will be increased at transport hubs. Authorities plan to intensify the fight against illegal mediation, the selling of queues, and corruption. These measures mean that procedures for document processing and oversight will become significantly stricter for foreign citizens working in Russia.
