The administration of the Saratov Region is preparing to approve new rules for the use of foreign labor. From January 1, 2027, it is planned to ban ten new types of economic activity for migrants working under patents in the region. The relevant conclusion has been signed by the Ministry of Economic Development, and the final decision is expected to be made by the regional governor.
The new restrictions mainly cover vital infrastructure sectors. In particular, foreigners will not be allowed to work in the supply of electricity, gas and steam, water supply and sewage systems, as well as in freight transport services. Similar bans had previously been introduced in the region for passenger transport, taxis, courier services, catering, education, healthcare, and public administration bodies.
The regional Ministry of Labor and Social Protection emphasizes that these measures will not have a negative impact on the regional economy and will help ensure employment for the local population. According to officials, these steps are being taken to ensure public safety.
Employers have been given until January 1, 2027, to adjust their staffing schedules to meet the new requirements. During this period, enterprises are required to review their staff and organize work processes in accordance with the new rules.
