Uzbekistan has expanded the scope of its labor migration cooperation with foreign countries from 3 to 27. This was announced at a meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. New tasks were set to improve the system of targeted vocational and language training for citizens wishing to work abroad.
It was noted that there is an opportunity to employ 287,000 citizens in 34 countries this year. Now, information about vacancies abroad, requirements for specialists, language proficiency levels, and training opportunities will be delivered directly to citizens at the mahalla level. It was also emphasized that the number of people employed abroad through private employment agencies has increased fivefold over the last two years.
Considering the importance of foreign language skills for high-paying jobs, unified labor migration centers will be opened in every region next year. 8 billion soums will be allocated to each region for these purposes. Additionally, 20 technical colleges will be selected, their educational programs will be adapted to the requirements of foreign employers, and they will be handed over to entrepreneurs for management. It is planned to train at least 30,000 qualified specialists annually on this basis.
Furthermore, the "Online-Mahalla" platform has been launched to assist compatriots who find themselves in difficult situations abroad. Providing employment for citizens returning from labor migration has also been set as a priority task: it is planned to provide decent jobs and involve in entrepreneurship 250,000 returning citizens by the end of the year.
