Work experience abroad is planned to be counted towards pensions in Uzbekistan

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev addressed the issue of pension provision for citizens working legally abroad. Today, our compatriots work in more than 40 countries, paying pension contributions along with taxes. However, the fact that their work experience abroad is not fully taken into account when calculating pensions after returning to their homeland remains a problem.

The head of state has set specific tasks to resolve this issue. While agreements on mutual recognition of work experience and pension rights have been signed with Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, and Turkey this year, it has now been ordered to reach similar agreements with Russia, Germany, Japan, Korea, and the Baltic and Balkan states. Responsible agencies have been tasked with accelerating negotiations and achieving concrete results by the end of the year.

Furthermore, the meeting addressed the issue of employing citizens who have returned from migration. Since the beginning of the year, 1 million 116 thousand people have returned from abroad. A special platform reflecting their profession and work experience will be created and connected to a system used by khokims and industry leaders. It is planned to provide employment or guide into entrepreneurship 250 thousand returnees by the end of the year.

In addition, it was announced that from next year, the task of sending citizens to work abroad will be transferred to private employment agencies, and an opportunity will be created for those facing problems abroad to request assistance through the "Online Mahalla" platform.
